Frequently Asked Questions

Am I eligible to apply?

You've got to be 18 or over and employed, as well as living and banking in the UK. If you meet these criteria, you're eligible to apply with Cash Lady.

How do I apply?

Just click the apply button and enter your contact details for work and home, salary and banking details. It should only take you a couple of minutes. Once you've done that, you'll be sent a fast decision with no obligations. If you are successful, you will be sent a loan offer. If you accept it, you'll be forwarded the cash!

Why is the APR so high?

The APR (Annual Percentage Rate) was originally used to calculate loans that are given out for years, or for credit cards or even mortgages. Because a payday loan is for such a short amount of time (generally 28 days), it's an awkward measurement to use. It makes it seem a lot more expensive than it actually is, since the APR shows what the percentage would be if you paid at the same rates for a year. It's a bit like being given the annual rate for a hotel room when you just want it for a weekend.

Realistically, most applications through Cash Lady result in a payment of about £29 per £100 borrowed, with a total payment of £129. It may vary a bit from this, but it shouldn't be by much. For more information on the loan fees, visit our charges page and check out our representative example at the side of this page.

How long does it take the money to come through?

It can vary a bit. Depending on your circumstances and which lender you are matched to, you may be able to get cash in as little as an hour, but it can take up to 48 hours. In some cases, lenders may need some verification of your payslips or similar.

How do I set up repayment?

When you accept the agreement, you will set up the repayment. It's done in a single instalment, so you don't get tied into long term payment plans. The money will be taken from your debit card, so you don't have to worry about setting anything up. It's all done automatically.

What is continuous payment authority?

Some lenders use CPA (continuous payment authority) to retrieve payment. This means that you authorise the lender to withdraw the funds from your bank account. They can also make multiple attempts to withdraw the money if it is not available. If you want to cancel your CPA, you can do this by contacting the lender or by contacting your bank and requesting a cancellation.

Does it matter what I want to use my loan for?

You're not required to explain this in the application. You can use it for unexpected bills, emergencies or anything you need it for. Used responsibly, payday loans can help you fill a small gap in your finances. We do recommend that payday loans are best used for things like emergencies, to avoid getting into unnecessary debt.

Is it secure to apply?

Yes. Your loan will not be discussed with anyone but you, and we have a privacy policy that means that your data is kept safe and secure at all times, using SSL technology. We do not share your data with anyone outside the lending process. Please see our privacy policy for more details.
